わんこ写真教室@ハウススタジオ / Photography class @house studio
2008年 09月 28日
Yesterday, Islay and I attended the photogenic dog photography class, at a house studio.
I took photos with space to add phrases too. (Click here to see the collection of Photo & Phrases!)
We were blessed by very good weather, though there were clouds, and I was busy changing the manual setting of the camera, whenever it turned cloudy or sunny. Especially difficult for white dogs. I loved the sun coming in from the windows too. The above photo, is of Islay indoors, by the window, and the scenery is what is seen through the window. I think it gave a nice atomosphere when seen through the window. Can you see Islay's reflection on the window?
Yawn! Photo session is fun only for the owner!? I'm bored already!
A cute toy camera, belonging to Roger the Dachsuhund. So cute! Islay looks like a photographer!
The sky outside was actually very blue and beautiful. But with Islay indoors, this was the bluest I could take of the sky, without Islay turning too dark, without lightings etc.
This was what happened, when I took the blue sky as first priority. (I was here to learn, and not just take photos, so I tried many different settings!)
Jump!
I like to purposely take a white dog with over exposure, and make the photo really white. Kind of interesting, don't you think.
And I like to change the white balance, to make the photo look yellowish, purposely. I guess it really depends on the individual tastes, but for some photos, I prefer it yellowish. That is why some of the photos of mine, are yellowish at times.
Here's how it looks with proper colour settings. I prefer it yellowish, but that's my taste. Wonder what others think?
You can change the white balance, to make the photo blueish too! But this one seems a little too much!? But I am trying to make the photos look purplish (purple is my favourite colour! Hadley House's colour too!), but yet to succeed.
Islay dumped in the garbage can!?
How dare you dump me!
No matter how beautiful the studio may be, the photos I like taking the most, is the expression of the dog, especially the eyes. I know, it can be taken anywhere, and need not be a beautiful studio. But often, dogs are treated like props, on the job. But dogs aren't props! They are alive, with feelings, with expressions! And it shows in the photos! That is why I love to take these photos, and I shall continue doing so!
Islay, on hearing the release command, after the "chin" command. Really?
Islay, happy to be released!

There were 21 people in the class, so we divided into 3 groups of 7. Here are the dogs in our group. Should I call it, the variety group, with various breeds! The other 2 groups, were mainly, poodle, poodle, and more poodle!
There was a Chihuahua too, who looked like a super minature Islay, with same colour, and long tail fur!

Sorry, crooked!
Funny photo, of Islay scratching!
It sure was a fun photography class! Hope they'll have more such classes, preferably at different house studios, so we can take more photos with different backgrounds!
