Internet program “Wan Nyan (Doggy Moggy) Music Hour”

Hoping to figure out how to put the subtitles on the videos, but before that, here is a quick summary about the internet program Wan Nyan Music Hour, for our English speaking friends.

Youtube でも英語字幕が付けられるようなので、それをどうやるか、勉強しようとは思いますが、その前に、ひとまずは簡単な英語サマリーです。

************

Internet program “Wan Nyan (Doggy Moggy) Music Hour”
https://www.facebook.com/ShinoEllie

talks about animals, hoping to improve the welfare of animals and aims for zero killing of animals in Japan.

In this 4th episode, first there is the Part 2 of Aya Sugimoto’s interview. (Part 1 of the interview is in episode 3: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8A3Qyi2fUK8 )

Aya Sugimoto is an actress in Japan.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aya_Sugimoto

she is also the founder of the animal welfare foundation, EVA

http://www.eva.or.jp/

which she established last year, and has been acitively working for animal welfare for years.

In the Part 2 of the interview, she talks about

1) need for Animal Police in Japan

2) talks about the aims, to let people in Japan know more about rescued animals,
and goes on to talk about what we as individuals can do to help, like fostering animals,
and adoping rescued animals.

3) her animal welfare foundation EVA, and how we can help them e.g.
by becoming a member.

Then, we go on to the “Music Friends” section, where we introduce musicians who love animals.

We have Sakuma Hideki as the music guest on this episode.

http://www.sakumahideki.net/index.php

He talks about his adopted cats. He talks about the songs which he has written , including
the song “Inochi (Life)” which he wrote to support the people after the 2011 Eartquake, which he sang for our animal charity event. (Clips can be seen on the 2nd Episode
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R0axLVA_UuQ )

He then sings the song “Kimini (For You)” on stage.

Although there have been improvements in the recent years, people adopting pets is still a minority in Japan, with puppy mills and pet shops selling young puppies still very common. We hope many people will get to know about and consider adopting animals in Japan. We also hope to talk more about the animals that are the victims of the 2011 Earthquake, in later episodes.
