富士五湖旅行 その3 / Fuji Lakes trip Part 3
2010年 11月 13日
First half of the 2nd day, Islay stayed back at the hotel. Off to see the caves! First, Ice Cave!
Loved this sign board!
And I liked the people appearing on this map!
洞窟の中、0度ってことだったけど、そんなに寒く感じなかった。
Well... the cave was..... well... not really what I expected. I was imagining those caves like those we went at Tasmania with the glow worms and all. But it turned out to be a mighty humble cave!
But we were excited when we came out of the cave! Blue skies! After all that fog, mist, and rain! Mt Fuji, will you we finally get to see you?
"please prevent your car crash!" ?????
On to the next cave, Lava cave!
after all, it's a "mysterios spots in F.Five lakes Distorict" !!!??? mysterios??? Distorict???
Well, the cave was a fridge in oldern days... that's it. No need to see the bat cave lah!
Next, to see how the oldern villages looked!
Tho the weather was on the way to recovery, still foggy up the mountains.
Could see only the foot of Mt Fuji still.
Mt Fuji, not yet.
Was that the tip of Mt Fuji we see?
Yes!
Ice cream again! What flavour was this? Yuzu?
Finally got to see Mt Fuji! So off to lunch!
There were seats outside but not sure if dogs are allowed there, or are they supposed to stay in this super tiny pen!? Such a small enclosure, Islay won't be able to lie down even, in here!
Since they serve the supposedly same royal curry they serve at the Fujiya Hotel, thought we might give it a try.
It said it'll take some time for the food to be served, I asked and the owner said about 10 minutes, so we decided to wait, but the owner sure was unfriendly.
Ordered Fried Himemasu (lake fish) too. This one was good. Too bad very little. Only 2 fish.
And this is the curry. Supposed to be very ancient, one of the very old Japanese curries. It turned out it didn't even taste like curry. Very very sweet. Now that I remember, I tried this very ancient Yokosuka Gunkan Curry, eaten by the marines in war time. And that didn't appeal to me at all too. So I guess, the curry in oldern days in Japan, is just not my taste! Pat, Sue, sorry for my bad choice of place for lunch!
Well, after lunch, we found out that the weather was even better! Much warmer too! So decided, this might be a good time to drive up the Mt Fuji to the 5th station! Since we can visit there with dogs, decided to fetch Islay from the hotel, then drive up to 5th station! Off we go!
To be continued...!
